Film Seizure #11 - Rampage (2018)

Remember the 80s?  Remember going to the arcade to play video games?  Remember dumping quarters and tokens into a game called "Rampage" where you played as a primatologist (is that even a word?) who befriends an albino gorilla that becomes a rampaging monster with a couple other mutated creatures?  Remember when Negan showed up as a super cowboy Negan?

Yeah, no.  Neither do Geoff and Jason.

But they did see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in his movie called Rampage that featured somewhat familiar (but as Geoff will proclaim - completely botched) creatures that is sorta based on that video game we grew up with.  Take a listen to their thoughts below!

Backtracking the Marvel Cinematic Universe Part 2: Living in an Avengers World

Last week, we covered Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - perhaps one of the most ambitious, and trickiest, gambles ever taken by a Hollywood studio.  The first six movies patiently built a world featuring Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America which culminated in them, along with Hawkeye and the Black Widow, creating the Avengers.  They saved the world from a bunch of alien invaders called the Chitauri.

However, the Chitauri were also pawns in a bigger plan by an even bigger, badder alien force, Thanos.

This week, we look at Phase Two which mostly deals with the fallout of the Avengers' actions against the Chitauri, and a terrible secret revealed in the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Film Seizure #10.3 - Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982)

Hello again!  Welcome back to the final part of our 10th episode extravaganza!

For these past three days, we've been releasing our pilot episode (which we realize we went way overlong by having it go nearly three hours) in honor of today - Friday the 13th!  As you can clearly see, we decided that this would be the perfect time to release this pilot as we covered the first three Friday the 13th movies.  So...  Yeah, I think you can see how we did the math to figure all this out.
Also, we've now moved to releasing WEEKLY episodes!  So, now every Wednesday, you'll get to hear our awesome voices speaking directly into your earholes.  Rejoice!

Come back next week as we look at the brand new Rock tour de force film - Rampage!

Film Seizure #10.2 - Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)

Welcome back for Part 2 of our three-part, 10th episode extravaganza!

Today, we continue the pilot episode recorded way back when Geoff and Jason were trying to figure out what the hell they were doing with this show.  For part 2, we look at Friday the 13th Part 2!
Be sure to come back tomorrow for the final part in this pilot trilogy and the tip of our hat to everyone's second favorite spooky day of the year - Friday the 13th!

Film Seizure #10.1 - Friday the 13th (1980)

It's time for another new episode of Film Seizure!

This week is a bit of a special release.  Back when Jason and Geoff were trying to figure out the format for their show, they wanted to record a pilot episode covering some movies they knew well enough to feel comfortable with them being the subject of the first episode.  Long story short, they chose the first three Friday the 13th movies, and recorded a nearly three hour pilot episode.

They realized that the best way to move forward with their show was to not do three hour episodes, but they still also wanted to release what they had originally recorded.  So, here we are...  Celebrating the 10th episode of Film Seizure, as well as celebrating this week's Friday the 13th (April 13, 2018), and celebrating our move to a weekly format (see our post this Friday), we decided to release the pilot episode in a special three-part release!

For today, check out our thoughts on the very first Friday the 13th!
See you tomorrow for Friday the 13th Part 2!

Backtracking the Marvel Cinematic Universe Part 1: World Building

I bet you've seen a preview or commercial for The Avengers: Infinity War due out April 27 at just about every movie theater and pirated movie website near you.  If you aren't like Geoff, who is super cool because he is a long time comic book collector and in no way a major dork, you may not realize that this third Avengers film is the 19th Marvel Studios film to be released in the last 10 years.

Also, if you are super uncool (unlike Geoff - who is not typing this article by the way), you may not have seen all the previous movies.

Worry not, true believers!  Face front because it is time for the Merry Marching Marvel Society to come at you with a quick rundown of the entire story up to this point!  Thanks to your friendly neighborhood comic collector (not Geoff, though, it's definitely not him writing this article and calling you uncool for not seeing all these movies), we'll get you ready for the release of this summer's super blockbuster!  Excelsior!

Film Seizure #9 - The Bird with the Crystal Plumage

Episode #9 wraps up our Dario Argento Triple Feature from our visit to the Skyline Drive-In in Shelbyville, Indiana!

Geoff and Jason take a look at Argento's first film, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage.  It's a title that rolls right off the tongue!  Also, if you're in central or southern Indiana, be sure to check out Skyline Drive-In's website for showtimes because it's drive-in season once again!

In two weeks, we have a special three-part release in celebration of our 10th episode, the final bi-weekly episode, and a chance to pull back the veil on our very first recording.  More info to come!
